Today we launched the Espardino micro2142. We try this way to help embedded developers to get in touch with the low cost ARM microcontrollers platform starting from NXP.
Espardino will be a series of boards, micro2142 is the first of them. It offers a pretested platform with microSD slot, ready to run in your designs from the start without the need of any kind of programmer. Yes you won't need any programmer or special programming cable apart from a simple USB.
The embedded bootloader let's you program the NXP LPC2142 in the Espardino micro2142 directly from the USB. And you won't need any special software either, because it emulates an standard Flash drive with the firmware binary inside, making it virtually compatible with any operating system in the market.
We are very happy about this new launch, and we will be releasing a development studio based on WinARM and the GNU toolchain, and a full set of libraries designed for our Espardino boards, including microSD access, ADC, DAC, PWM, SPI, UART, I2C, Virtual COM ports, led access, etc...
